old stuff , like I am sure curly whirly’s were thicker and longer when they first came out.
Halfpenny mix, at the shop. You got loads, Fruit salads, blackjacks, What else was in there?
Jubblies, or jugjogs we called. them. They were deffo bigger then.
Wagon wheels, when I was a nipper they were that big you needed both hands to hold them…hi.
Yes they were, But the manufactures tell us it is because we have got bigger they look smaller. Who they trying to kid.
They put the windowlene on the windows because they had taken the curtins down and did not want the nosey folk looking in.did your mom or nan hang the curtins so that the good side was outside?
Trevor
Very interesting question about the curtains. Had to laugh. Nan had the good side towards the window in the front room, which was never used. Also I think in the front bedroom. But everywhere else the good side was on the inside. Mom always had the good side inwards to the room. But we had net curtain. You never put the light on till the curtains were drawn. Gosh the good old days, no money, little of everything, but my goodness loads of love and fun.
does anyone remember the Red White and Blue Public House on the A461 when it was a pub? Any photo’s?
